More informationCaser, an insurance group made up of over 5,000 people and 2,200 brokers, wants to be close to its policyholders with a strategy to grow above market levels and gain in efficiency and profitability.
After the end of the transition period following the adjustment phase experienced by savings banks (their main shareholders) and the emergence of new technologies, the need arises for digital transformation processes and new strategic plans, where the omnichannel and user experience emerge.
The opening of Caser’s main digital asset
The challenge, raised after choosing the architecture, is to provide the Multi-channelity department with a public website on which to publish sites that specifically focus on the sale of products: general, Auto, Life Home and Health, and private sales to the customer. The website was also to act as a tool to generate traffic to other company businesses.
This new website had to meet a series of business requirements that would ensure it could be used by a large number of existing and potential customers. In addition, it was necessary to cover the wide range of contexts from the desktop, smartphone and tablet user experience, while increasing Caser’s brand image and reputation. As a sales channel, it needed to increase visits and conversion rates.
Design and architecture of the new Caser.es website
Following an in-depth analysis and using synergies of previous experiences, a change in the approach to technology was proposed, allowing for use of the capabilities of the Liferay platform. In addition, an architecture was defined alongside the updating of portlets and a modification of front technology from JSP to Freemarker. Finally, an attractive, responsive adaptive design was included to encourage the digital experience of the policyholder.
All linked to the assignment of a mature team in the construction of digital portals, and strengthened by the early and continuous delivery of software. This builds a relationship of trust that brings business and technology together with a common goal in the search for results and to provide the policyholder with the services requested.
The development has been implemented in line with accessibility criteria according to the WCAG standard given that, due to regulations and to Law 56/2007, Caser must comply with these criteria.
