BABEL digitised the runway coordinator processes for IBERIA so that the measures ensuring everything is ready for aircraft take-off, such as departure and arrival checks concerning baggage, catering, cleaning, crew, passenger boarding, fuelling, etc. are now digital.
A mobile app facilitates and optimises the coordinator's job, always considering the importance of good user experience in this field of work.
The main advantages obtained from the project were:
- Digitisation: eliminated the paperwork and subsequent data entry that had been done to date.
- Streamlining and efficiency. Coordinators work more efficiently with the facilities provided by the app.
- Real time. The important information collected by the runway coordinator is sent to the server in real time.
- Alert management.
- Online task updating.
